Lesson 17 - Type casting and object hierarchy in Kotlin

In the previous lesson, Interfaces in Kotlin, we learned about interfaces and created a Pterodactyl class in Kotlin. In today's tutorial, we'll continue working on our interface project. We'll also go over type casting and reveal more secrets of the object-oriented programming.

Type casting

Let's go back to our previous project and change the code in the main() function to have our pterodactyl stored in a variable of the BirdInterface type:

val bird: BirdInterface = Pterodactyl()
