Lesson 16 - Form framework for PHP - CheckBox and TextArea
In the previous lesson, Form framework for PHP - Testing and finishing the form, we finished up with the core for our form framework. Since it only works with input elements at the moment, we'll improve it during the following lessons by adding more controls. In today's tutorial, we'll add a CheckBox and a TextArea.
CheckBox
I'm sure you're all familiar with the CheckBox element. Its value can either be 0 or 1 (checked or left blank). Unfortunately, unchecked CheckBoxes are not sent to POST by design, in HTML. We'll have to bypass this behavior and have unchecked CheckBoxes added to our form data with a value of 0. It also has to render labels next to our CheckBox so that users can click on the box as well as the text.
