In the previous tutorial, Practicing PHP exceptions - Finishing the contact form, we finished up with exceptions and finished our object-oriented email form application. We're getting closer to the end of the OOP course. In the next couple of lessons, we're going to talk about the last bit of theory in regards to OOP. It's not as important as what we've gone over in previous lessons, but still, you might need it eventually.

Magic methods for the second time

As you already know, PHP classes commonly implement so-called magic methods. We call them magic because they're called automatically during specific events. At the beginning of the course, we went over the three most important ones - constructor (which is called when you create a new object), destructor (which is called when an object becomes inaccessible) and __toString() (which is called when an object is converted to a string).

I've kept some of the magic methods from you on purpose, mainly, so you wouldn't be overwhelmed with the amount of information thrown your way. :) You're ready now, though, let's get right to it!
